This year, Cr\u00e8me Br\u00fbl\u00e9e Day lands on Tuesday, July 27th, and the Skylon Tower invites you to celebrate this special occasion at the world renowned Revolving Dining Room<\/a>. For those of you who have savoured cr\u00e8me br\u00fbl\u00e9e before, you will understand why this delectable dessert deserves its own day. For those of you who have yet to have the pleasure, this is the perfect opportunity to enjoy this French favourite from 775 feet above the Falls.<\/p>\n

So what is so special about cr\u00e8me br\u00fbl\u00e9e? For starters, it is a sweet, creamy, rich vanilla custard base topped with a contrasting layer of caramelized sugar. The caramelized sugar layer is created with torch fire, fresh to order. The custard is chilled before it is torched, warming the top but leaving the centre cool. The sugar on top hardens and creates a glass-like brittle layer that you have to crack open with your spoon, revealing the creamy custard underneath. These two distinct elements and temperatures create a flavourful and complex sensation for your palette, giving you a crisp, creamy taste of heaven.<\/p>\n

You may know this dish as Crema Catalana or Trinity Burnt Creme. Whatever you call it, it is an undeniably delicious dessert that you can enjoy on its own or after your meal at the Revolving Dining Room.
