ELECTION OF PROVINCIAL SUPERIOR – PROVINCE OF COLOMBIA AND VENEZUELA
On the morning of 15 December, the III Provincial Chapter re-elected FR. LUIS ARMANDO VALENCIA CMF, as Major Superior. He is confirmed by Fr. Mathew Vattamattam, Superior General and President of the Chapter. He is elected for three years of government.
Armando, who holds a degree in philosophy and theology and a master’s degree in anthropology from the Andean University of Bogotá, is known for diligence and hard work. He was born on January 16, 1968 in Tutunendo, Choco, Colombia. He made his first profession as a Claretian missionary on January 26, 1992, and his permanent profession, on January 19, 1997. He was ordained a priest on December 13, 1998.
He has worked in Choco Mission of the Parish of El Carmen de Lioscio, the International Theologate Los Mártires in Bogotá, as the head of the apostolate of Uniclaretiana, responsible for the procurement of missions, and was elected as superior of the organism in July, 2017.
